Have you checked the list at the cross lately? Your name is in there. “Why is my name in there despite all my weakness?” I am glad you asked.
Your name is bolded on the list of the people God loves. Simply because you are in this world, you qualify and you are an inclusive. For this is the scope of his love and the reason for the cross (Lucado, 2000). He loves the world.
“For God so loved the world that he gave his only Son” (John 3:16, NKJV).
As we celebrate Easter, you may want to pause to consider the love of God revealed on the cross at Calvary. His love for you was the greatest gift ever given. His presentation of His love was the best dramatic scene ever demonstrated to humanity.
Have a glimpse at the cross:
His Blood he shed for you.
The spear he took for you.
The nails he felt for you.
The sign he left for you.
Now, if he did all these and more for you, what in the world wouldn’t he do for you? I think He will do everything in His power to take care of you. He will not keep any good thing from you. Romans 8:32 confirms “He who did not spare his own Son, but gave him up for us all—how will he not also, along with him, graciously give us all things?”
Isn’t it amazing that God did not justify his love with a clause? “For God so love the…rich, famous, popular, strong, weak, beautiful, fat, ugly, or the Asians, Caucasians, Africans … etc. God’s love is wide enough for the whole world and I bet you find yourself in this world, an inclusive of God’s love.
Do yourself a favor this Easter by bringing yourself to the cross. Allow yourself to receive His love for you. Be saturated at the cross with such great love, knowing He did all these for you.
